Halloween Ideas part 3

If you don't own a costume and were invited to a Halloween party, you should try the Pop Art look:

First, use a black eye-liner to fill in your eyebrows and line your facial expressions.

Then, outline your lips and apply eye-shadow on your lids.

Outline the eyeshadow on your lids, and use two different lip color tones to paint your lips. Use the darkest lip color as your lip base, and the lightest one to create the glossy cartoon look.

Paint red dots, uniformly, all over your face, and finish the look by applying mascara and/or falsies.

The final look

My friend, Breana, tried to achieve the Roy Lichtenstein's blonde girl look, but you can search for other characters and do the same. I think this is a very rare Halloween costume, and a great idea if you really want to stand out from the crowd. I was thinking about trying it out myself and painting some vampire fangs on my lips, but I guess it'll have to be next Halloween, since I already have my costumes.

I hope you try this costume idea, for which you only need make-up and a cute dress.

Halloween Ideas part 2

As Angela explained on the last post, we had an early Halloween party last Saturday and I dressed up as "Alice in Wonderland". I saw this costume at Buffalo Exchange last weekend and really liked it, for those who don't know what BE is, it's a store that sells used clothing. It's cheaper and if you look carefully, you could find very cool stuff.
So, the original costume was called "Lt. Blue Mary" and all the accessories were red, but in my mind this dress looked like Alice, plus I saw this amazing high heels at Forever 21 and they were the perfect combination, so it was a cascade of events :)
I hope you guys like it!!! Are you excited for Halloween??? I know I am ;)
Love,
AL

Halloween ideas part 1

We had an early Halloween party this past Saturday, and I was challenged to come up with a costume out of my closet. My friends and I thought this dress would make a good Morticia costume because of its length and long sleeves.

I decided to give it a bit of a spin and adapt it to what I thought Morticia would look like in 2012. For the sake of Halloween, I did a bloody design on my nails, as an alteration of Morticia's red nails, added some clear heels, and a studded bag.

I hope you like this costume idea, and try it at home without having to go out and buy a 100$ costume!

Dress: H&M
Clear Heels: Jeffrey Campbell
Bag: Buffalo Exchange

Fun fact: Did you know that Morticia was based on Charles Addams' (the cartoonist and creator of The Addams Family) first wife?

Cecilia

Let me introduce you to Cecilia, a Swedish friend of mine, who I personally believe has a great style. Every time we meet, she manages to put together these completely neat/clean/classy looks. I think you understand what I mean by looking at these pictures. Her make-up, hair-dos, and accessories always look like they have been carefully chosen to go with her outfits.

I've been meaning to take pictures of her for months, and finally got the chance to do it this past weekend, after having lunch and some Bloody Marys. She posed as if she had been modeling for years. Angela and I were absolutely impressed.

My favorite part about this outfit? Her vintage bag and the fur vest! What was yours?
